An explosion occurred in an anti-government rally in Bangkok, Thailand, on the afternoon of the 23rd, killing at least 24 people.

It is reported that at around 5 pm local time, an explosion occurred at the anti-government assembly site at the intersection of Ratchaprasong. It is part of Bangkok’s main business district and has several large shopping centers. Immediately after the explosion, a large supermarket nearby was temporarily closed.

The local emergency medical service center said it had received reports of 24 people being injured in the explosion. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and the police are investigating the cause of the explosion.

Since the beginning of tensions in Thailand, violent incidents such as explosions and shootings have occurred, and the safety of the assembly people is difficult to guarantee. On the evening of the 22nd, a shooting incident at the anti-government assembly site in Daban, central Thailand, killed a 5-year-old girl and injured 41 others.
